Biden admin continues negotiating with Iran despite plans to kill high-level American politicians
Former Trump administration officials John Bolton and Mike Pompeo have been targeted by Iran

Recent alleged Iranian plots to assassinate former U.S. government officials has called into question the wisdom of continuing nuclear deal negotiations with the country.
"The foiled plot to assassinate John Bolton is another reminder, if any was needed, that Iran’s hostile regime cannot be trusted," James Phillips, the senior research fellow for foreign policy at the Heritage Foundation, told Fox News. "The regime’s longstanding reliance on terrorism to seize power, stay in power and export its revolution is a major reason why Iran cannot be allowed to gain nuclear weapons."
Phillips' comments come after the Justice Department revealed last week that an Iranian operative was behind a plot to murder former Trump administration national security adviser John Bolton, a likely retaliation for the January 2020 strike that killed Qassem Soleimani, the former head of Iran’s elite Quds Force.
"It is not just me," Bolton, a staunch critic of the Iranian regime, said in an interview with Fox News Digital last week. "The regime in Tehran has targeted a lot of Americans."
