A U.S. Navy fighter jet assigned to an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean Sea blew off the deck on Friday during bad weather, the military branch announced on Sunday.
 
One sailor who received minor injures during the bad weather is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery, the Navy said, adding that all other personnel aboard has been accounted for.

The aircraft carrier was conducting "replenishment-at-sea" at the time, which was safely terminated, the Navy said.

"USS Harry S. Truman and embarked aircraft remain full mission capable," the Navy said.

 
The cause of the incident are under investigation. It's unclear if the aircraft has been recovered or if recovery efforts are being planned.

If the weather was that heavy, I would think the CO, XO, or the Chief commisary man would have had the planes chained down.

If this weren't the "good old boy Academy Graduate US Navy",at least one Admiral would be forced into retirement after his court martial.

At most,the Admiral most responsible will be forced to retire with a full pension,and be immune from any further prosecution.

Probably even be given a few new medals at his retirement ceremony.
