Jan. 6 insurrection hearings: How to watch and what to know
By FARNOUSH AMIRI today

WASHINGTON (AP) — Nearly a year since its inception, the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol will go public with its findings starting this week as lawmakers hope to show the American public how democracy came to the brink of disaster.

The series of hearings that will take place over the next several weeks begin with a prime-time session Thursday night in which the nine-member panel plans to give an overview of its 11-month investigation. More than 1,000 people have been interviewed by the panel, and only snippets of that testimony have been revealed to the public, mostly through court filings.

What you need to know ahead of the hearing:

WHEN WILL THE HEARING TAKE PLACE?

The first of six hearings is set to go live at 8 p.m. EDT on Thursday. It will take place in a large House office building in the U.S. Capitol complex. Lawmakers plan to have witnesses testify and to display a series of never-before-seen images and exhibits relating to the lead-up to the insurrection and the attack itself.

HOW TO WATCH THE HEARING

Several major networks and cable news programs are expected to carry the first hearing live in its prime-time slot. The committee is also expected to live-stream it on C-SPAN and on its YouTube page.

WHO IS EXPECTED TO TESTIFY?

The select committee has yet to release details about who is expected to testify Thursday. But the public hearing, unlike other committee hearings, will be a mixture of traditional testimony as well as a multimedia presentation.

WHAT WILL THE HEARING ENTAIL?

The first hearing is expected to be a table-setter for the rest of the subsequent hearings. The committee, comprised of seven Democrats and two Republicans, plans to lay out several areas of information it has gathered throughout its investigation.

The panel’s probe has so far been divided into a series of focus areas, including the efforts by former President Trump and his allies to cast doubt on the election and halt the certification of President Joe Biden’s victory; the financing and organizing of rallies in Washington that took place before the attack; security failures by Capitol Police and federal agencies; and the actions of the rioters themselves.

WILL THERE BE NEW DETAILS ABOUT THE INSURRECTION?

Several members of the committee have promised new and explosive information to arise from the public hearings, but it remains unclear what that will entail.

The hearings are expected to be exhaustive but not the final word from the committee. It plans to release subsequent reports on its findings, including recommendations on legislative reforms, ahead of the midterm elections.

They are trying to force the American people to watch the propaganda event, professionally produced by a former NBC person.  This is only going to piss people off at the Rats even more.

Bernstein: January 6 Probe Has ‘Really Convincing Evidence’ Trump Attempted a Coup

Pam Key 6 Jun 2022

CNN contributor Carl Bernstein said Monday on “Don Lemon Tonight ” that House Select Committee investigating January 6, 2021 had “really convincing evidence” that former President Donald Trump attempted a coup.

Bernstein said, “What we do know, reporting is that there is an awful lot of information that shows that the committee has an awful lot of evidence, really convincing evidence, of a conspiracy to have a coup in which the president of the United States, the sitting President, Donald Trump, would not permit his duly elected successor, Joe Biden, from taking office.”

He continued, “And so what happened here? What does the committee know? The committee has a timeline. I’m told. The timeline shows that at 1:00 p.m., the only time under the law in the United States that the president of the United States can be elected by the electors, sitting and presided over by the vice president of the United States, the object of this conspiracy, which extends to the president of the United States and his aides according to some people on the committee and its staff, that the object was to keep that 1:00 p.m. vote from happening. It was coordinated with the demonstrators who stormed the Capitol.”

He added, “One of the things that we see is Donald Trump didn’t tell them to go home until after 4:00 or 5:00 in the afternoon even though there were many pleading with to him to please send them home. Tell them to go home. He didn’t do it. Why not? Could it be because the longer it got past 1:00 p.m., the more Trump knew, as his lawyers had told him, that he might be able to stage a coup that would keep him from leaving office?”

Bernstein concluded, “It’s diabolical. It is truly diabolical, and the lawyers recommended it.”

Adam Schiff and the rest of the clowns involved in this circus, all claiming they have 'indisputable evidence' that Trump attempted a coup, are the exact same people who claimed for years that they had 'indisputable evidence' that Trump was an agent of Putin.

Once their Russian Hoax blew-up, they didn't even blink. They just created Russia Hoax 2.0. And once Trump and everyone else is cleared of 'treason' or 'sedition', whatever the Dem nutjobs are calling it, they will just move on to Russia Hoax 3.0, and on and on and on for infinity.

Meanwhile Hillary, Pelosi, and countless others who impeached Trump a dozen times in an actual real 'coup' type overthrow attempt, are never even questioned.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

There are much more enjoyable fantasies to watch than another biased democrat one with a stale plot, poor writing and bad acting. If this was to be an honest, I know doesn't apply to democrats or RINOs, presentation than we would be seeing unedited video of what actually occurred and not the lies the democrats are telling.

I will not grant this show trial my time.

The progenitors of this have had an enormous amount of time to go over 'evidence' the rest of the world has a hard time accessing, and it has taken them this long to put this farce together, with all the assistance and resources of the US government, with post-production times rivaling the the most epic of Hollywood epic films, back in a day when computer graphics and editing were not available.

I have little doubt that enough montages culled from short clips of tens of thousands of hours of video, documents carefully highlighted in broken and disparate phrases, and carefully chosen camera angles will reveal exactly what those who have flogged this deceased equine down to individual cells desire. After all once something is broken into components on the atomic scale, virtually anything can be assembled.

What I expect to be absent is the Truth.

This bunch went hunting witches to justify their unconsionable treatment of Americans who were let into a building and exercising their First Amendment Rights, goaded on by agents provocateur in the employ of partisan operators desperate for an event they could shape in the public minds to overshadow the theft of a national election, to try to create an epic crime to cover for an epic crime, not to mention the rampant crimes against humanity that set the stage for the theft of the century.

Like any other efforts to rewrite the rewrites of history, similar to mathematical derivatives, soon all you have left is a constant. In this case, the constant is the continuing contempt the crooks of the Democrat Party have for America, our Constitution, and Americans of every stripe and color who are not immediately useful to their consummation of their fixation on wealth and power, with no lie too bold, not action too unthinkable, no person not expendable in their eyes save themselves.

You couldn't force me to watch this crap if you had me rigged up like Malcolm McDowell in A Clockwork Orange, strapped to a chair with my eyelids mechanically retracted.

How God must weep at humans' folly! Stand fast! God knows what he is doing!

Schumer calls Fox News ‘cowardly’ for not airing Jan. 6 hearing
by Alexander Bolton - 06/07/22 2:50 PM ET

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday blasted Fox News as “cowardly” for deciding not to televise the highly anticipated prime-time hearing later this week by the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

“Few things obstruct the American people from hearing the truth more than Fox News’s cowardly decision not to broadcast Thursday’s hearing,” he said at a press conference after the weekly Senate lunch.

Schumer argued the conservative cable news channel has an “obligation” to inform its viewers about the findings of the House select committee that has been investigating the storming of the Capitol last year by a mob of former President Trump’s supporters.

“After all of the false facts that Fox News has allowed to be put on the air by its commentators and everyone else, they have an obligation to show the true facts by allowing the hearing to be seen by their listeners,” he said.

Schumer’s comments alluded to Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s three-part documentary, Patriot Purge, that falsely characterized the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol as a false-flag operation designed to “purge” Trump voters in a new war on domestic terrorism.

The special characterized the rioters as “political prisoners” facing excessive punishment.

The House committee will hold its first hearing at 8 p.m. (Eastern) Thursday, capping 11 months of work and hundreds of interviews.

Other national networks, including ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MNBC, plan to carry the hearing.

Five questions that hang over the Jan. 6 committee’s public hearings
by Niall Stanage - 06/07/22 6:04 PM ET

The biggest moment of the Jan. 6 House Select Committee’s existence is about to arrive.

On Thursday evening, the panel will hold the first of its televised hearings. The event will take place in prime time and be broadcast by almost every major network and news channel.

For some, it will be the most dramatic congressional investigation since the Watergate hearings a half-century ago.

Others — committed supporters of former President Trump, in particular — will likely tune out the hearings.

Here are five big questions that have yet to be answered.

What will we learn that’s new about Trump?

Democrats are promising explosive revelations about the former president’s role in fomenting the attack on the Capitol.

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) on Tuesday promised in a CNN interview, “We’re going to see how much Trump was involved. Trump ran this show. He ran it from the time he lost the election in November, and he did it with his son, or sons, and all of his henchmen up there.”

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), a member of the committee, told The Washington Post in a Monday interview that the panel had “found evidence about a lot more than incitement here.”

Raskin added, “I think that Donald Trump and the White House were at the center of these events. That’s the only way of really making sense of them all.”

Ironically, the main difficulty Democrats may face in making the case against Trump is the vast amount that is already known.

Trump was, after all, impeached by the House only one week after the insurrection, becoming the only president in history to be impeached on two separate occasions.

At a rally at the Ellipse near the White House, immediately before the assault on the Capitol, he told supporters, “If you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.” And he also told them that President Biden, if certified as the election’s winner, would be an illegitimate president.

There have also been subsequent media leaks about other things the panel may have uncovered — including, recently, the suggestion that Trump was sympathetic to the demands of some of his supporters to “hang Mike Pence,” then the sitting vice president.

There could be more shocking evidence to come. But the knowledge already in existence sets a high
bar.

Why Mike Pence will be a key figure at Thursday’s Jan. 6 panel hearing
by Brett Samuels - 06/08/22 5:21 AM ET

Former Vice President Mike Pence will not be present when the House Jan. 6 committee holds a prime-time hearing on Thursday, but he will be a central figure as the panel makes its first presentation to the public of what unfolded before and during the riot at the Capitol.

Pence has not directly cooperated with the committee, but some of his former aides have. In recent months, a steady stream of new details has come out about Pence’s actions on Jan. 6, 2021, and he has publicly rebuked former President Trump for saying the election was stolen.

“I anticipate that we will hear about Mike Pence on Thursday night. You can’t tell the story without him,” said Norm Eisen, who served as special counsel to Democrats during Trump’s first impeachment.

Pence’s role in certifying the Electoral College results on Jan. 6, 2021, hours after hundreds of pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol, has only become more of a flashpoint in the investigation of the day’s events and in Republican politics more broadly.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), a member of the House panel investigating Jan. 6, has emphasized the significance of Pence refusing to leave the Capitol as rioters were inside the building, suggesting to do so would have given an opening for Trump’s allies to follow through on their plan in Pence’s absence.

I listened to Beck briefly this morning -- he interviewed a member of the Proud Boys (who left the scene on J6 by the way) who has been in solitary confinement for almost a year, with no court date in sight!  I fear what is going to happen to this man after he's done with the interview.

The Jan. 6 insurrection obviously is nothing more than to take the focus off the real insurrection; a stolen election.

No, I don't care to watch the leftists and RINO's pretend that they are orchestrating any sense of a fair investigation.

Also, I see Mike Pence mentioned; he can kiss my royal grits!
