Monkeypox outbreak: What to know

Since early May 2022, an increasing number of monkeypox cases have been identified in more than 20 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom.

As a viral disease native to Africa, symptoms of monkeypox include skin lesions, fever, and body aches.

Some recent cases of monkeypox have involved men who have had sex with men, however, experts say the disease is not a sexually transmitted infection but can spread via direct contact during sex.

The World Health Organization said it is unlikely the outbreak will turn into a global pandemic, but warned that quick measures are crucial to stop the spread.

The sudden outbreak of monkeypox is troubling. Although at this point it seems confined mostly to male homosexuals, there seem to be at least some cases spreading to others (heteros) as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if a year from now, everyone will be getting either a first-time smallpox/monkeypox vaccination, or a booster vax for those of us who got the original smallpox vax in the 1950's/60's.

But, more concerning is the outbreak of hemorrhagic fever in Iraq. Deadly and may be more "transmissible" than monkeypox. There's a vax for yellow fever, but not sure if it will also be effective against the current outbreak.

It may not be too much longer before we need to vax for this and maybe ebola as well...

Monkeypox was first identified in 1958, and appears to be endemic among some mammals in parts of central Africa. There have been small outbreaks or clusters of cases outside of Africa fairly frequently since 2001, and outbreaks and case clusters have been happening somewhere in the world almost every year since 2017 (the exception being 2020, when worldwide travel was Covid-diminished).

So, this outbreak is not sudden, it's just a disease endemic in Africa that infrequently has significant outbreaks in the west, and thus gets little western MSM attention. In the current outbreak many cases have been traced back to one or two widely attended "Pride" festivals. Whether the "close contact" was bar room or concert close or closer is knowledge I can forgo. At this point, the outbreak looks to be isolated pockets and not spreading.

Vaccine ... the history of this is less than fascinating, but trying to be brief:

* After smallpox having been, in the 1970s, declared eradicated and routine vaccination largely ceased, the presence of lab samples of the virus in countries that had become unstable in the 1990s and beyond sparked concern that the virus could be used as a weapon;

* Technology having marched on, a new smallpox vaccine was developed;

* This vaccine was approved in EuroLand in 2013, and in 2019 in the US; until recently, the US had a stockpile of some 24 million doses;

* This vaccine is also effective against monkeypox.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Philadelphia Announces First Probable Case of Monkeypox in Pennsylvania
by Mimi Nguyen Ly
June 3, 2022

A probable monkeypox case has been identified in Philadelphia, the first such case in Pennsylvania.

The city’s health department announced the case based on preliminary testing at the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Bureau of Laboratories where the person tested positive for orthopoxvirus, the family of viruses that includes monkeypox and smallpox.

A test to confirm whether the case is monkeypox is pending at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Philadelphia’s public health department says it will not be confirming any information about the resident but is working with Pennsylvania’s health department and the CDC to figure out how the individual contracted the disease.

The health groups will also probe whether the person may have exposed anyone else to the disease ever since they became infectious for monkeypox. If they identify any potentially exposed contacts, the department staff “will contact those people directly.”

What to know:

Avoid the homo butt lovin'.

The way the media dances around this I'm gonna bet that most of the spread is due to gay activities.
The Republic is lost.
