Heartbreaking images emerge of customized children's caskets featuring basketballs, musical notes, Pokemon and the TikTok logo being made for victims of Texas school massacre

Trey Ganem, owner of Soul Shine Industries, has made customized caskets for 18 of the 19 children killed in Uvalde and one of the two adults
Ganem's caskets usually cost around $3,400 but he has given them to the families for free
Ganem and his son Billy have worked around the clock at his Edna, Texas, base to get the caskets made in time
They have had volunteers travel from as far as Corpus Christi, Texas, to help paint, sand, and apply vinyl to the child-size caskets
Relatives have requested TikTok logos, slime, dinosaurs and llamas on their loved ones' caskets
On Tuesday the first funeral was held, for Amerie Jo Garza, 10 - one of the first to be killed, murdered while calling 911 to get help for her friends
Eleven more funerals will be held this week for the 21 victims, with the rest taking place next week

If Arrendondo is not fired for this, it will be a stain on police departments all across America. It will prove that their primary goals are 'political' rather than functional or professional. Police Chiefs are just another jelly boned gutless politician instead of being a real Law Enforcement Officer.
He does not need to be fired as he is no longer on that job.

He is already switched jobs for a better position on the city council.

‘Lock malfunctioned’: Surveillance shows teacher slammed door shut, called 911 as shooter climbed gate
June 1, 2022 | Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Despite previous claims by Uvalde police, the unnamed teacher at Robb Elementary School who propped open a school door with a rock, reportedly closed it when she heard gunshots, but it didn’t lock and the killer gained access.

New surveillance footage shows that the teacher who was blamed for propping open the door so food could be brought into the school was not at fault for the gunman slaughtering 19 children and two adults, refuting prior statements to the press by Texas Department of Safety Director Steve McCraw. The teacher’s attorney asserts she closed the door as she heard gunshots being fired at funeral home employees.

“She saw the wreck. She ran back inside to get her phone to report the accident. She came back out while on the phone with 911. The men at the funeral home yelled, ‘He has a gun!’ She saw him jump the fence, and he had a gun so she ran back inside,” the teacher’s attorney Don Flanary stated, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The teacher called 911 and slammed the door shut, according to the lawyer.

“She kicked the rock away when she went back in. She remembers pulling the door closed while telling 911 that he was shooting. She thought the door would lock because that door is always supposed to be locked,” Flanary asserted.

I have a simple surveillance system(like a RING) purchased from Best Buy for $200 that permits me to place 4 cameras where I can see all doors of entry easily and videos stored in memory.

I wonder why this is not deployed at a school like this?

Or if it is, where is the footage to backup this claim?

The simple truth is if someone wanted into the school, the door would make little difference. Unless all the windows are barred, which can't be done for fire safety reasons, they are easily breached.
Sure they can be easily breached, unless you are the police who are scared to do so.

Only the mentally ill can breach them.

Uvalde school district assured parents students were safe, building was 'secure' minutes after gunman entered
Robb Elementary later reported an 'active shooter'

By Greg Norman | Fox News

A Facebook post by Robb Elementary as the Uvalde school shooting was unfolding insisted to parents that "students and staff are safe in the building," despite gunman Salvador Ramos entering minutes earlier.

The message, attributed to Anne Marie Espinoza, executive director of communications and marketing at the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District, instructed the community at 11:43 a.m. local time May 24 that "Robb Elementary is under a Lockdown status."

"Robb Elementary Parents: Please know at this time Robb Elementary is under a Lockdown Status due to gunshots in the area," the message said.

"The students and staff are safe in the building. The building is secure in a Lockdown Status," it continued. "Your cooperation is needed at this time by not visiting the campus. As soon as the Lockdown Status is lifted you will be notified."

So this proves what I said. He is 95% politician and maybe 5% Cop. That's why he didn't want to act. He did what all politicians do when faced with an important decision with an uncertain outcome. All politicians will choose to do nothing until someone else makes an actual decision. That's exactly what he did. He told everybody to stand down hoping the situation would just go away and resolve itself on its own.

He was willing to sacrifice those children to keep from doing anything which may affect his City Council seat. He is a slimey politician, not a 'first responder' or a 'law enforcement officer'.

Can anyone see this guy as a firefighter? He would let the building burn down, cool, and 'declared safe', before going in to rescue anybody.

Cannot imagine how this guy lives with himself. Do not know how he sleeps at night. But he is a politician so ... no conscience I guess?

Now that we know what type of person he is, he can use his current position to get the rent paid politically.  As a bonus compared to his last job, he does not have to report it to IRS either.

Six questions as investigators probe Uvalde police response to school shooting
by Anna Giaritelli, Homeland Security Reporter |
 | June 02, 2022 06:59 AM

AUSTIN, Texas — More than a week since a teenager opened fire on young children and teachers at an elementary school in southwest Texas, much remains unknown about why police did not run into the building and what investigators have learned about their response.

As funerals for the 21 victims of the attack on Robb Elementary School in Uvalde began Tuesday, the families and friends of the victims had yet to hear more about the 18-year-old killer or why federal agents from Border Patrol were the ones to lead the charge in taking down the shooter instead of the city's SWAT team. Below are answers to some of the top questions regarding the investigation:

Who is investigating the police response to the Uvalde school shooting?

The Texas Department of Public Safety’s Ranger Division announced its own investigation.

The U.S. Justice Department on Sunday opened a critical incident review at the request of Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin.

Texas school shooting: Uvalde mayor details how negotiator tried to call Salvador Ramos
Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin speaks about Robb Elementary shooting response

By Greg Norman | Fox News

A negotiator stationed at a funeral home near Robb Elementary as the Uvalde school shooting was unfolding was trying "every number they could find" to reach gunman Salvador Ramos, the city's mayor has revealed.

Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin, in an interview with The Washington Post, said the negotiator ultimately was unable to make contact with the 18-year-old, who killed 19 students and two teachers in the attack.

"His main goal was to try to get this person on the phone," McLaughlin said. "They tried every number they could find."

The mayor told The Washington Post that he doesn’t believe the negotiator was aware that there were children calling 911 from inside the classroom that Ramos entered, asking police for help.

Uvalde students won’t return to Robb Elementary School
by Caroline Vakil - 06/02/22 11:08 AM ET

The superintendent of the Uvalde, Texas, school district announced on Wednesday that students will not be returning to Robb Elementary School after the mass shooting there last week that left 19 children and two adults dead.

“Students and staff will not be returning to the Robb Elementary campus. We are working through plans on how to serve students on other campuses and will provide that information as soon as it is finalized. We are also working with agencies to help us identify improvements on all UCISD campuses,” Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Superintendent Hal Harrell wrote in a letter, which was also on behalf of the district’s board of trustees.

Harrell wrote that the school is continuing to cooperate with authorities on the shooting and would be providing counseling services to staff and families “for the foreseeable future.”

His main goal should have been to get the shooter to the window where a sniper team could take him out.

'We just like to go in and get business taken care of,' says team that took out school shooter

https://www.wnd.com/2022/06/just-like-go-get-business-taken-care-says-team-took-school-shooter/

'We'd like to remain as silent professionals'

Quote
Until three agents with the Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC) burst into a classroom and shot the Uvalde, Texas, school shooter dead, few Americans even knew the elite unit existed. The reason they’ve largely flown under the radar and out of the public eye is simple: they see themselves as “silent professionals,” one BORTAC agent told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

“Before we were a secret society that nobody knew about. And there’s still a lot of us that want to keep it that way,” said the agent, who spoke with TheDCNF on the condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak.

Agents from the BORTAC rushed into Robb Elementary School classrooms on May 24, where 18-year-old Salvador Ramos had opened fire and killed 19 children and two teachers, according to multiple reports. After Ramos began shooting, the agents ran in when local law enforcement waited to go into the classrooms for about an hour.

BORTAC agents were first held back by local authorities for around 30 minutes before getting frustrated and storming in on their own volition, with Pete Arredondo, the Chief of Police in the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District, reportedly instructing his officers to await backup and additional equipment before entering the school.

BORTAC has responded to threats in the U.S. and abroad and is trained by top elements of the military, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The unit was formed in 1984 in response to riots in immigration detention facilities, according to CBP. BORTAC has around 200 active agents across the border and is headquartered in the El Paso border sector, the BORTAC agent told TheDCNF.

Uvalde school district’s police chief didn’t know about 911 calls coming from inside the school, lawmaker says

State Rep. Roland Gutierrez, D-San Antonio, said the commanding officer at the scene of the shooting was not informed about the calls that Uvalde police were receiving, calling the lack of coordination a “system failure.”

by Reese Oxner June 2, 20223 hours ago

A Texas lawmaker said Thursday that the school district police chief in charge of the scene at the Uvalde school shooting last week was not informed of the multiple 911 calls made inside the building while the shooter was still inside.

State Sen. Roland Gutierrez, D-San Antonio, said during a press conference the Uvalde school district’s police chief, Pete Arredondo, wasn’t made aware of 911 calls that students inside Robb Elementary School made around 30 minutes after the gunman entered, including a student begging for police to take action. The shooter killed 19 students and two teachers during his siege on the school.

Instead, Gutierrez said 911 calls were relayed to the Uvalde Police Department, which operates separately from the school district's police, and Arredondo — who was leading law enforcement’s response on the scene — was left in the dark.

Gutierrez described the lack of coordination as a “system failure.”

Arredondo has been widely criticized by state leaders and safety experts in the days after the shooting for his handling of the situation. It took more than an hour to breach the classroom where the gunman was holed up. The delay was contrary to the way law enforcement is trained based on best practices that were widely adopted after the 1999 school shooting in Columbine, Colorado, which recommend engaging with active shooters as soon as possible.
