Critics slammed Vice President Kamala Harris after Politico's "West Wing Playbook" revealed the vice president reportedly opted to not appear with President Joe Biden in a video about student debt forgiveness.

"The vice president has been increasingly wary of becoming part of the public face of the administration’s response," Playbook said, noting that the progressive wing of the Democrat Party has been calling for more aggressive forgiveness of student loans.

The report said that the "delicate politics" represent a larger disagreement over loan forgiveness among members in the Biden administration.

Scott Jennings, a conservative commentator, responded to the report on Twitter, and asked "Is there a Democrat in the country who will appear with Joe Biden?"

Christina Pushaw, press secretary for Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., reacted to the report as well and argued that student loan forgiveness was not a progressive policy.

"Student debt cancellation isn’t really a progressive policy at all if working class Americans are expected to fund it. It’s another massive upward wealth transfer. The only way it would be truly fair is if universities themselves had to fund it, alongside reforms to the system," Pushaw said on Twitter.

Much of that student is underwritten by Federal guarantees.  So, working taxpayers who did not have the ability to pay for fulltime enrollment in college will have to pick up the tab for stupid, crybaby, stoner, woke millennials.

Maybe Liberal Arts colleges should start teaching real world skills instead of useless woke pablum puke.

Charlie Rose, the former Education Department general counsel under the Obama administration, is “doubtful” President Joe Biden has the authority to forgive student loans through executive action, The Wall Street Journal reported.

“If the issue is litigated, the more persuasive analyses tend to support the conclusion that the Executive Branch likely does not have the unilateral authority to engage in mass student debt cancellation,” Rose detailed in a confidential May 2021 memo for his law firm, Hogan Marren Babbo & Rose, Ltd, the WSJ reported. ...

Under the 1965 Higher Education Act, the Education Secretary can “enforce, pay, compromise, waive, or release” an unspecified amount of student loan debt, which advocates say gives the executive branch flexibility, the WSJ reported.

But Rose argues “it is fair to discern Congress has inferred that the [Education] Department should not decide the question of mass forgiveness of performing loans,” according to his memo, the WSJ reported.
