... Chappelle reportedly just told the audience how he had more security because of the cancel culture mob that went after him for his jokes about the transgender community.

“It was a trans man,” he joked to the audience after the incident.

ABC journalist Stephanie Wash tweeted, “LAPD confirm to KABC they responded to an incident at the Hollywood Bowl around 10:45 p.m., and a man who was reportedly armed with a gun and a knife was taken into custody.”

When Chappelle returned from out of view, he told the crowd alongside Jamie Foxx, “I’ve been doing this 35 years. I just stomped a [n-word] backstage — always wanted to do that.”

Buzzfeed reporter Brianna Sacks tweeted that at least 10 people beat the “sh-t” out of the alleged attacker. ...

The audience member who tackled Dave Chappelle on stage while armed with a blade-firing fake gun was identified Wednesday as he was booked for felony assault with a deadly weapon.

Isaiah Lee, 23, of Los Angeles, was charged with the shocking caught-on-camera attack of the 48-year-old comedian at Tuesday night’s show at the Hollywood Bowl, the LAPD said.

He had been carrying a replica handgun that had a blade inside, LAPD spokesperson Lizeth Lomeli also confirmed.

Lee was booked just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday and held on $30,000 bail, records show.

He was listed as being 5 feet 10 inches tall and just 140 pounds, and an address given for him matched that of an LA homeless shelter. ...

Howie Mandel isn’t looking forward to doing stand-up comedy in the near future.

The 66-year-old admitted that he’s fearful for the comedic community following Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars in March and the recent attack on Dave Chappelle at the Netflix is a Joke festival on May 3.

“Not to comment on what happened at the Academy Awards, but I thought that that opened the flood gates,” the “Deal or No Deal” host told E! News’ Daily Pop Wednesday.

“We’re already as comedians being attacked as far as being canceled for something that you don’t like, something that you find offensive, something that you think is too soon,” he continued.  ... NY Post
