Russian general reveals plan to invade Moldova next
« on: April 22, 2022, 11:50:57 pm »
American Military News by  Ryan Morgan  April 22, 2022

Nearly two months after Russia invaded Ukraine, a Russian general described Russia’s next phase of military operations as what may be an invasion of Moldova.

In comments reported by the Russian state-run TASS news agency on Friday, Russian Maj. Gen. Rustam Minnekaev, Deputy Commander of the Central Military District, said the “second phase” of Russian military operations in Ukraine will focus on establishing a “land corridor” between Russia, the Russian-occupied territory of Crimea, and Transnistria, which is a pro-Russian breakaway region of neighboring Moldova.

“Since the beginning of the second phase of the special operation, it has already begun, literally two days ago, one of the tasks of the Russian army is to establish full control over the Donbas and southern Ukraine,” Minnekaev said.

Hell, they might as well invade Seattle and Portland, too, they're full of fellow communists.

(Yes, that is sarcasm)

If they aren't stopped in Ukraine, they might not stop.

why would an American General call the Chinese and tell them he would give them a call if someone tried to launch a first strike (unlikely anyway) and put them on alert?

Maybe we don't have a monopoly on stupid generals.

Another sign of what happens to non-NATO countries.  The Hague should be expecting calls from Helsinki and Stockholm soon.

What a lot of people might not understand is Romania is a NATO member and they are on the Western border of Moldova. If fighting starts in Moldova and crosses over into Romania we may be drawn into the war.

It makes sense to stop the invaders now and push them out of Ukraine.

A lot of people might also not understand that Moldova was part of Romania until Stalin stripped it away in 1940.  Putin already has a roadmap to what he is trying to achieve.

From America's standpoint, yes.  For those backing Putin, no.

Just out of curiosity,is there anyone here who REALLY believes a Russian General can and will take it upon himself to make strategic battle plans public, and remain living?

This is almost like something out of Monty Python.
