Border Patrol agents apprehend over 400 undocumented migrants in three separate groups

DEL RIO, Texas – Border Patrol agents working on the border apprehended over 400 undocumented migrants in three separate large groups over the weekend as they tried to enter the United States illegally.

On Saturday, April 2 at about 5:00 a.m., agents came across a group with 146 migrants near Normandy, which is in between Eagle Pass and Del Rio on the border. The group had 65 people from Colombia, 21 from Venezuela, 22 from Cuba, seven from Peru and 31 from Nicaragua.

The next day, on April 3 at around 3:00 a.m., agents from the Eagle Pass Station stopped a group of 140 migrants also near Normandy. One person was from Chile, eight were from Peru, 34 from Venezuela, 33 from Cuba, and 64 from Colombia.

The last group was encountered by agents from the Del Rio Station early Monday morning, on April 4, at around 1:45 a.m. also near Normandy. The group included 36 migrants from Nicaragua, 18 from Peru, 28 from Colombia, 21 from Cuba, 23 from Venezuela, eight from Cuba, three from Ghana, and 13 from Nicaragua.
