Duo follows man into NYC building, robs him of $100K, cops say

A duo followed a man into his Upper Manhattan building and robbed him of $100,000 at gunpoint, police said early Tuesday.

The suspects followed the 27-year-old victim into his lobby at Nagle Avenue and Dyckman Street in Fort George around 3:50 a.m. Wednesday, cops said.

Video released by the NYPD shows one of the suspects pointing a gun at the victim, while the other pulled on the back of his shirt.

Both suspects, wearing green latex gloves, forced the victim up to his apartment, where they restrained him with an extension cord, cops said.

They then removed his jewelry and about $100,000 in cash, police said.

The pair fled via the fire escape, and took off in a white BMW SUV.

I'd love to know why this 27 y.o. was waltzing around Manhattan with $100k cool ones in his pocket.  That's either the mother of all cash payrolls, or something fishy's going on.

I have a feeling that duo is going to be found someday in the East River with concrete shoes.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.

"A white BMW SUV"?

Nice taste, but a mite spendy for a getaway car.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Probably drug-related.
