Seems likely to happen.

Telling the world that some Canadian citizens' bank accounts are frozen forces all Canadians to consider their own money would be frozen at some point, so a run on the banks is clearly logical to do.

Trudeau has created the largest crisis in Canadian history due to arrogance,  This is about retaining and extending power.

He will not last 48 hours if this is truly happening.

Definitely. Bank runs can turn to wildfire-out-of-control real fast. We've not really seen one in today's electronic global economy, there's no blueprint for how that could play out.

That is a very good point, particularly since they have just announced that they will be taking into account a person's expressed political views, many people who have political views that are not as far left as Trudeau's would be tempted to pull their funds out and go into hard currency so that they would be able to do things like pay the rent, put food on the table, commute to work, etc.

If that happened, it would be one of the biggest self-inflicted wounds ever.
