NC State Supreme Court Throws Out Redistricting Map Over GOP Gerrymander

The North Carolina state Supreme Court rejected a congressional district map passed by the state legislature, ruling that the legislature created an unconstitutional partisan gerrymander.

The map, passed along party lines, created ten safe seats for Republicans and three safe seats for Democrats, with one competitive district. Democratic officials immediately challenged the map in the Wake County Circuit Court, where Republicans initially won. The plaintiffs were represented by the Elias Law Group, an elections litigation firm founded by prominent Democratic attorney Marc Elias.

“The General Assembly diminished and diluted the voting power of voters affiliated with one party on the basis of party affiliation,” the court ruled Friday. “Achieving partisan advantage incommensurate with a political party’s level of statewide voter support is neither a compelling nor a legitimate government interest.”

Submit it again, with a few minor changes.
If the court throws it out, submit it again, with very minor changes.
Repeat until election day gets close, and force it into place.

Corrupt judges rule the day once again, making up laws as they go.  Dems are thrilled with it.  I don't see how we can share a country with these people in the long term.  There is no upside.

The legislature passed a new map with 6 Republican seats, 4 Democrat seats and 4 competitive districts.  So, the tyrants got their way, and the damage is done for ten years.

After the Friday night massacre, it should be obvious the Republicans need to allocate resources toward the judicial races.  Otherwise the board of elections (and the governor) will pull shenanigans in 2024.  Two dems have expiring terms, and they only have a 4-3 majority on the Supreme Court.

A three judge panel has just DRAWN new map to elect more Democrats to congress.  These people are out of control.
