Chevrolet is killing a legendary V8 engine
Monster motor no longer available for order
By Gary Gastelu | Fox News

General Motors is going electric, so you can expect to start seeing more and more of its internal combustion engines falling by the wayside in the coming years.

The LS7 crate motor can be purchased with all the components necessary for it to operate in a custom car build. (Chevrolet)

The latest is the monster 7.0-liter V8 that powered the 2006-2013 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, but has also been available as a crate motor for custom car builds.

The LS7 was offered in both its original 505 hp tune with a track-ready dry oil sump design and as a 570 hp wet sump version.

The LS427/570 is a more-powerful version of the 7.0-liter V8 with a wet sump design. (Chevrolet)

Time to start stockpiling these things as the factories shut down.

I don't think I'll need any more. But you never know.  I currently have 5. One 235ci Straight-Six, two 350ci Small-Blocks, one 454ci Big-Block and one 2500HD Duramax Diesel. All are in running shape. Though one 350 is getting close to 300k miles on it, but it still doesn't give me any problems.

Been driving 350s off and on since my beautiful '73 Monte Carlo Landau.  I miss it.

My daily driver a 98 Z71 has the 350 with close to 300k miles. My other 350 is in my 53 Willys CJ3B Jeep. Years ago I used it as my daily driver.
