Depends on who controls Congress after the midterms, and how robust that control is.

We need to have a generally-applicable federal law that requires every sitting President to undergo at least annually a comprehensive physical and mental fitness exam at the beginning of the term, and at the beginning of each year thereafter.  No exceptions.  And the results have to be made public.

- That such amendment will NOT apply to anyone currently in office at the time of enactment.

And please -- no comments that this is "unconstitutional age discrimination", because once it becomes a part of The Constitution it IS then "Constitutional".

The Federal Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), states it is unlawful to discriminate against employees who are 40 or more years of age or more.  The American people will never support dissolving protections against work place age discrimination.  It's DOA.

The SC is unique.  I would need to be convinced removing lifetime appointment is the best way to go.

If you suspect a president is cognitively incapable of holding the office, invoke the 25th Amendment.

And the reason for that was that the candidates for those offices would have enough experience in life to have some base of knowledge and wisdom to draw upon. Now, thirty five means a PhD and an internship, maybe a 'starter' job in government, and not a whole lot of root hog or die experience one would have had 200 years ago. I'd rather have an annual mental competency test than a numerically defined age at the high end. I have seen people at 65 who have serious issues, and others sharp as a tack at 90.
