'We All Want Peace': Soldiers Gain Better Understanding of Islam Through Training
Jan. 7, 2022 | BY SGT. 1ST CLASS MARY KATZENBERGER, 3RD EXPEDITIONARY SUSTAINMENT COMMAND

More than 40 soldiers deployed to Camp Arifjan and Camp Buehring, Kuwait, participated in cultural awareness training in Kuwait City recently.

People sit in a room with an ornate ceiling.

The religious affairs specialists and chaplains began their day of cultural immersion organized by the Area Support Group Kuwait unit ministry team at the Amricani Cultural Centre.

The Amricani Cultural Centre campus got its start in 1912 when it served as the American Mission Hospital. Its facilities now serve as the home of the Dar al Athar al Islamiyyah, a cultural organization that operates several cultural centers in Kuwait and manages a collection of more than 20,000 pieces of rare Islamic art.

Khateeb Mohammed Al-Naqwi, the Islamic preacher for the Islamic Affairs and Moral Guidance Center at the Grand Mosque, presented a basic primer on Islam to the soldiers.

I wonder if they now disbelieve all those stories about Islam activists throwing gays from the top of buildings, scores of people being beheaded at the same time, people thrown in cages to be burned alive, Islamists flying planes in to skyscrapers, people being stoned to death, women needing permission from a man to drive a car, children being used as suicide bombers, etc.  Do they now believe that people who slaughter other people because of their religious beliefs, food they eat, and what they say all want peace?  I believe Milley hopes so. :grouphug:

The problem with Islam is not that Muslims do not want peace, but that they have a defective concept of peace.

In Semitic languages (like Arabic) the consonants are the root of the word:  Salam (peace) and Islam (submission) have the same root.  In the Muslim mind the only peace is the peace between conqueror and conquered, between master and slave, because peace and submission are inextricably bound up in the Muslim consciousness.

There are not long-term peace treaties with non-Muslims in Islamic law, only hudna, cease-fires that can be abrogated by the Muslims whenever it seems advantageous (which abrogation is seen by Islam as virtuous, rather than treacherous).  In Islam, there is no analogue of the peace of God which passes all understanding experienced by those who have received adoption as sons of God, only slave-like submission to the will of Allah, which gives one a sort of peace -- never having to think for yourself, and the fatalism summed up in everything being premised with "Inshallah" (If God wills).
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.

Which islam are they training?  The islam that says that infidels should not be persecuted?  Or the islam that says that infidels should be slaughtered?
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

Meanwhile, Christian chaplains in the US military forces are prohibited from sharing Biblical teaching when it comes to the subject of homosexual behavior.
