He butchered it and ate it. The scene show him cooking something like a 20lb steak.

In my near 50 years of dealing with contractors (home and work).  This theme is pretty apt.

It is almost impossible now to get a reasonable, competent contractor to do decent work. Seems the COVID debacle took the winds out of initiative, and common sense.

I hate to say it, but hire the Mexicans. Around here, virtually every roof was replaced due to hail damage. Those crews could strip a roof, re-felt, put in the ice dam guard and shingle it in a (16 hour*) day and have the rain gutters back on by nightfall.

*Midsummer day here at 48 degrees latitude is 16 hours of daylight.

Actually, and sadly have had to do that earlier this year.  At one of our residences, it came down to finding someone to even show up for landscaping work.  Only alternative was hiring a Mexican crew, and they do a bang up job.

This in turn has kind of strangely amended my outlook and POV on illegals.  What do you do when you can't find a white or black group of kids 18-30 with enough work ethic to get any work done?  It is a crying shame.

Same here and thus the quandary.....  Getting the work done, standing behind our border principles.

Do NOT be reluctant to say it. The FACTS are that the majority of the "South of the Border" refugees,illegal OR legal have the work ethic that the typical American worker had right up to around 1960. Things seemed to change right about then from workers taking pride in their work,to workers demanding to get paid for just showing up and doing the absolute minimum.

Soooo. Let us NOT be reluctant to praise the work culture of our southern invaders. After all,they did the work and they earn the praise.

Hey! It is even possible they might shame the American workers into doing quality work again.

I DO get and even agree with your point,but would like to  point out that  human nature IS human nature,and give these same "Mexican families" a generation to adjust,and their children will be bitching about illegal immigrants trying to take their jobs.

Another fact that is tempering my views is the drastic trend of Latins being conservative/republican.  A vast majority are people of faith, and the socialist dimocrat agenda sure counters that philosphy.

I do "get" and almost agree with your POV,but have to admit that America being controlled by the Catholic Church is NOT a step in the right direction unless you think a brutal dictatorship is the ideal government.

Some of the Mexicans will work like devils, others will be slackers. Hispanics are often used to working at a very fast pace because they had to because of piece work or paid by jobs, that Americans would rebel at. When I worked construction I interacted with both types. I have a lot of respect for anyone that puts out extreme effort, whoever they are, and I'm sure you and the others here feel the same.

   I've worked with both, the Lazy and the Bright, when I worked construction in the Houston area (Brick helper) in the late 60's, early 70's.  The first two words I learned in Spanish were 'andale and pendajo, sad to say.
