Try driving a car with a leaky hydraulic clutch cylinder.
- Fill cylinder with fluid.
- Start car in neutral.
- Push car backwards out onto road.
- Push forward aligning into traffic lane.
- Push down clutch and quickly shift into first as fluid leaks out of cylinder.
- Slowly release clutch, hoping engine does not stall.
- Shift into 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. without engaging clutch.
- Pray you can make it all the way to work without hitting a stop sign or red light.
I had to do this for a week while waiting for a replacement cylinder for an '80 Honda Prelude. I had a hill to park on at work, so I could save that one clutch push in case I needed it on the way home. But it was flat ground at my house.
