They released the prelim Tox report on Hawkin's.  The boy had more drugs in him than Hunter Biden on a date night.   He OD'd.

I don't even know what to think. I can understand a situation like Petty who gets addicted to opioids and can't get off them, but to have that many chemicals in you at 50 y/o? That's a kamikaze run.

And wife and kids to boot? Success beyond all measure? Where could his head possibly been at?

The Republic is lost.

He was having severe chest pain and was taken to the hospital where he died. That doesn't sound like an OD but who knows.

Obviously he had some issues and some sort of chemical/drug dependency.  You're right; success, wife and kids, what a shame.

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

‘Sopranos’ and ‘Goodfellas’ star Paul Herman dead on 76th birthday

By Yaron Steinbuch
March 30, 2022

Gangster movie stalwart Paul Herman, a Brooklyn native who appeared in “The Sopranos” and “Goodfellas,” died Tuesday on his 76th birthday.

The cause of death has not been disclosed.

His death was confirmed by Michael Imperioli, a former “Sopranos” castmate, who described Herman in an Instagram post as “just a great dude.”

“A first class storyteller and raconteur and one hell of an actor … Paulie lived around the corner from me the last few years and i am glad we got to spend some time together before he left us,” Imperioli, who played Christopher Moltisanti in the hit HBO series, wrote in the touching tribute.

Donald Shaffer, the real-life Radar O'Reilly, dies at 92

Shaffer was the neighbor of "Richard Hooker" (pseudonym), the author of the book MASH, and served with him in the Korean War. Hooker adapted details of Shaffer's life into Radar O'Reilly, one of the characters in the book, which in turn was portrayed by Gary Burghoff in both the film and the TV series.

Shaffer went on to also serve in Vietnam, then spent his post-military career as a history professor.

RIP Bobby I really enjoyed your music. It is odd though that the writer puts Volare before Wild One because Wild One was his #1 and Volare #4, oh well I liked them both.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback dead after getting hit by a car
by Ryan King, Breaking News Reporter
 | April 09, 2022 11:25 AM
Washington Examiner

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins Jr. died Saturday after getting hit by a car in South Florida.

Haskins, who was vying to become the starting quarterback, was 24 years old and would have turned 25 on May 3. Details of the accident are limited, but his death was confirmed by his agent, Cedric Saunders.

He joined the Steelers before the 2021 season after a stint at the Washington Commanders in 2019 and a notable college football career at Ohio State University. He may have been in South Florida for a practice session with Mitch Trubisky, early reports indicate.
This is a real shocker for Stillers fans, even if he was 3rd on the depth chart.

Woman who drew up Schindler’s lists during Holocaust dies at 107

Quote

The woman who drew up lists of people for the German industrialist Oskar Schindler that helped save hundreds of Jews during the Holocaust has died aged 107.

Mimi Reinhardt, who was employed as Schindler’s secretary, was in charge of drawing up the lists of Jewish workers from the ghetto of the Polish city of Kraków who were recruited to work at his factory, saving them from deportation to Nazi death camps.

“My grandmother, so dear and so unique, passed away at the age of 107. Rest in peace,” Reinhardt’s granddaughter Nina wrote in a message to relatives.

Austrian-born Reinhardt, who was also Jewish, was recruited by Schindler himself and worked for him until 1945.

Mr. M and I were in Frankfurt a few years ago and happened upon a building with a plaque indicating that Schindler once lived there, long after the events portrayed in the movie. For a moment we really couldn't speak. Hollywood became reality, and we thought about what he - and Frau Reinhardt - did.
