Hank Williams Jr’s wife, Mary Jane Thomas, dead

By Julius Young , Lauryn Overhultz , Fox News
March 24, 2022

Mary Jane Thomas, wife of country music star Hank Williams Jr., has died, Fox News Digital confirmed.

Thomas was transported from Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa in Jupiter, Florida, to a local hospital around 5 p.m. local time Tuesday, where she was pronounced dead, a spokesperson for the area’s police department told Fox News Digital. Reports about her death differ about Thomas’ age. She was in her late 50s or early 60s.

Williams, 72, and Thomas were married about 30 years. After meeting in 1985 at one of Williams’ shows in Washington state, the pair tied the knot in 1990.

North Korea will now enter a month of official mourning over her death.

Stephen E. Wilhite, inventor of the GIF, dies at 74

Wilhite, an employee of Compuserve (later absorbed into America Online, then into Yahoo! many years later), devised a file compression format designed for computer-generated graphics with a limited number of colors (such as weather maps) known as the Graphics Interchange Format, reducing their size. The file format eventually became largely obsolete with newer compression formats such as PNG (which offered full color spectrum, as opposed to GIF being limited to 256 discrete colors) but its support for animation provided its lasting contribution in the form of short clips that still circulate on message boards to the present day.

Wilhite died March 14 of a sudden and severe case of coronavirus.

That's a real shame.  The ".gif" is still ubiquitous.

Apparently, he pronounced it with a soft first letter, like 'jif', not with a hard first letter:  https://time.com/5791028/how-to-pronounce-gif/

"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

R.I.P. Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. 50. No cause of death yet. They were in South America in their current tour.

It’s breaking news less than an hour ago. Loved the way he played the drums.

Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

That's pretty close to the same age fellow Seattle rockers Paul Weiland* and Chris Cornell died. Apparently, much like Cornell, Hawkins had a few too many drugs in his system when he died.

*My phone amusingly autocorrected that name to Paul Williams, who is very much still alive.

He was having severe chest pain and was taken to the hospital where he died. That doesn't sound like an OD but who knows.
