Texas DPS: Teen coordinates smuggling try of 100 migrants

The Texas Department of Public Safety said that a local teen coordinated the smuggling attempt of these 100 migrants. The teen is facing a smuggling of persons charge.

A Laredo teen has been arrested for coordinating the smuggling attempt of 100 migrants, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Paulino Diaz Jr., 17, was arrested and charged with smuggling of persons, likelihood of serious bodily injury or death.
State police set up surveillance as part of Operation Lone Star on a tractor-trailer by the 14600 block of Archer Drive on Wednesday evening. Diaz was then observed coordinating and guiding multiple vehicles loaded with migrants into the trailer.
