Rather than investing in border security, Harris intends to make Central America great again. The supposed “border czar” announced the approach would be a joint venture between the public and private sectors.
“The United States has an important role to play in addressing the root causes of migration,” Harris stated. “At the same time, our government cannot do its works alone. And again, that is where you have all stepped up in your roles as leaders nationally and internationally to help us get the job done.”
The administration’s “call to action” plan will be performed in cooperation with seven companies, including PepsiCo and PriceSmart. The $1.2 billion venture is focused on pushing Central American countries to conform to international norms. Each company involved will fund various points of interest throughout the region from infrastructure to gender equity..............
