Chris Christie aims to shape future for GOP and for himself
Associated Press, Nov 27, 2021

NEW YORK (AP) — Chris Christie is everywhere.

The former New Jersey governor and onetime Republican presidential candidate denounced “conspiracy theorists” during a September appearance at the Ronald Reagan Library in California. He followed up with a speech this month to influential Republicans in Las Vegas, warning that the party will only succeed if it offers a “plan for tomorrow, not a grievance about yesterday.”

In between, he’s been interviewed by everyone from Laura Ingraham on Fox News to David Axelrod, a former adviser to President Barack Obama, on CNN.

On its face, Christie’s publicity campaign is in service of “Republican Rescue,” his new book that offers a simple prescription for his party: stop talking nonsense about 2020 and focus on the future — or keep losing elections. But the frenzied pace of his appearances and the increasingly obvious jabs at Donald Trump suggest Christie is plotting a political comeback with the 2024 campaign in mind.

Chris Christie and "shape" are not words that belong in the same sentence.

Christie is pushing a book no one will buy. He has less of a chance than Pence of going anywhere in the GOP.

Looks like Christie and Joe have something in common.  I didn't know he was this obese, or is this just maybe a bad camera angle?

There's just no place for him in the GOP. None.

Chris Christie blames Trump's rhetoric about stolen election for January 6 insurrection

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said he believes the insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6 was the result of former President Donald Trump's lie that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.
"I think everything that he was saying from Election Night forward incited people to that level of anger," Christie, a longtime friend and high-profile supporter of Trump, told CNN's Dana Bash in "Being... Chris Christie," the second episode in Bash's "Being..." series, which will air in full on Monday at 10 p.m. ET.
"I think people minimize what happened on the 6th by pointing to the speech that he gave on the Ellipse on the 6th," he said.

Christie, a failed contender in the 2016 primary, says he voted for Trump in both 2016 and 2020. He also served as an adviser to the then-President, helping him prepare for the presidential debates ahead of last year's election.

But Christie has been outspoken against Trump's lies about the 2020 election results. ......

Christie and Pence seem to be in a lack-of-awareness contest.  If neither understands that Trump absolutely has the first right of refusal for the nomination then they are both simply too stupid to be taken seriously.

I agree and I think both of their political careers are over.

@Houston

I think Christie has a perfect undersanding of what is going on. He knows that the crap he is selling in NJ won't flush in the rest of America, but it's the only card he has to play and he is trying to pull in all the money he can while it lasts, because it is over for him after the next election, and he ain't coming back.

As for Pence,I'm not sure he understands anything. He is the alleged Republican Biden.
