My diabetes doc is refusing to accept payments from the VA for treating me. Since he is the only diabetes doc within 50 miles, this is a big deal.

MY understanding, which could well be wrong,is that if a vet is rated at being 100 percent service-connected disabled pays a doctors bill out of pocket, this gives the VA justification for refusing to ever pay that doc again because the vet will have assumed payment responsibility.

I have similar problems with most other docs and the local hospital. I TELL them to bill the VA when I am signed into the hospital, but they will bill medicare/medicare in spite of hell, and I end up getting bills for any unpaid balances. And there are ALWAYS  unpaid balances.

Ok,what,if anything am I doing wrong?
