Fast food workers in NJ are about to get abused over new law (Opinion)

This isn’t going to end well.

In a ridiculous moment of overreaching idealism the state of New Jersey passed a save the planet law and one phase of it begins Thursday, November 4. In the same legislation that bans single-use plastic bags (that phase begins in 2022) plastic straws will no longer be allowed to be given out unless a customer specifically asks for one.

Which, of course, they won’t know they’re supposed to ask.

So? The workers should beat the state at it's own game and tell the customers 'Don't forget to ask me for your plastic straw'. What's the state gonna do send their brown shirts around to abuse the establishment for free speech? There's a reason why everyone went to plastic straws, paper straws suck or more precisely they add unwanted flavors to beverages and collapse with thick beverages like shakes. And let's not forget the major reason why there was a shift to plastic.....to save the trees! I suppose it would be too intelligent to require the use of plastic products designed to quickly decompose? it's a shame the left doesn't have as much environmental concern about used syringes and feces.
