Senior enlisted leaders: Building better Soldiers strengthens unit cohesion

By Joseph Lacdan, Army News ServiceOctober 12, 2021

WASHINGTON -- Soldiers could soon have up to three opportunities a year to earn an expert badge as part of an effort to foster cohesive units, the top enlisted leader for Army Training and Doctrine Command said Tuesday.

Speaking at an Association of the U.S. Army panel, Command Sgt. Maj. Dan Hendrex said that the Army Noncommissioned Officer Strategy emphasizes the need for highly trained, disciplined and fit Soldiers.

By affording Soldiers more chances to earn their expert badge they will be one step closer to that goal, he added. The badges include the Expert Infantryman Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge and Expert Soldier Badge, which Soldiers often previously had only one chance annually to earn.

Letting them know they are all considered potential "home grown terrorists" and they are constantly being vetted are most excellent ways of building cohesion.  So who are the political spies in their units becomes a big question. :scared smiley:

You have to wonder if they are really THAT out of touch,or just following the orders of their "woke" West Point graduate officers.

Unit cohesion is the most basic of all things in the military, and it MUST start at the lowest level and work it's way to the top. The privates MUST be able to respect the integrity and the knowledge of their unit NCO's or it is a lost cause.

The next step is to teach them to respect the officers in their command, and once again, nobody can do that BUT the officers in that company.

If you treat them like fools, they will act like fools. If you treat them like competent soldiers and show them respect WHEN THEY EARN IT,they will act like competent soldiers.

It's called "leadership". I undersrtand that is a new concept to the NCO's and officers in today's army, but you would be shocked to see how well it works.
