Either it was some sophisticated hacking, or the world's all-time worst snafu.
Or internal sabotage timed with the whistleblower interview.
As I understand it DNS and IP records are critical infrastructure, internet backbone stuff. Info that is safeguarded and requires high level access.
If those can be taken down that easily by any competent hacker, then the internet is in big trouble.
Or, we got trojan horse activists with backbone access who have no problem shutting down anyone who doesn't fall in line.
Last option is a govt.
