Democratic factions dig in, threatening fate of infrastructure vote
By Mike Lillis and Scott Wong - 09/30/21 03:34 PM EDT

The warring factions of the Democratic Party are digging in on their competing positions surrounding President Biden’s domestic agenda, raising the prospect that a bipartisan infrastructure bill will fail if it hits the House floor on Thursday.

The internal stalemate is raising new questions about whether Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will punt again on a vote that was originally scheduled for Monday.

Pelosi huddled in her Capitol office Thursday afternoon with three of the caucus’s major blocs: the Blue Dogs, the Progressive Caucus and the New Democrats. Each faction emerged asserting their previously held demands — the same entrenched dynamics that created the infrastructure impasse.

Moderate Democrats are still insisting on immediate passage of the $1.2 trillion Senate-passed infrastructure bill, arguing the need for a bipartisan victory on a major piece of Biden’s wishlist.

Apparently not.  In an embarrassing move, Pelosi pulled the bill tonight.

Nonetheless, I can't say I am heartened by the fact that my country's freedom and prosperity hang in the balance based only on Democrat infighting.

They will come together in the end and probably end up spending much more. They're importing and supporting terrorists from Afghanistan and they're letting anyone else walk into the country from who knows where across open southern border.

Obviously, it's just not fair that the USA should be better off than the worst places in the world, so we need to make sure that we are brought down to third world status.  That way there will be global social equity.

I am so looking forward to that because I am tired of feeling guilty about my country.

What's ironic is that the people with everything to lose will be the one that the the people with nothing to lose go after first. These stupid DCP disciples will get what's coming to them on the end of a long rope or lead poisoning.

It is a fact that all over the world the most powerful people in government are sustained by the suckers who were put into desperate straits by policies designed to keep the poor poor.  It's a form of Stockholm Syndrome I think.

I am going to go contrarian on this one.  With the multitude of egg on Biden's Pelosi's, and Schumer's face, I think the finger pointing will intensify and only galvanize the anger of the two sides of their party.  I'll go out on a limb and say if there isn't a bill by say.....  next Friday, there isn't going to be one at all.  At some point the volume of laughter wil start sticking to the egos, and it will be time to move on.

Another point....  DOW's up 500 points today in investor celebration that the gang that couldn't shoot straight, couldn't make it happen with the full governmental control trifecta in place.  Large investment insiders have the dope on long term trends, and at least right now, they are betting against it happening
