Last week, House Democrats added a “Red Flag” law to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to give authorities the rights to take your guns away. And 135 Republicans joined them.

According to Cam Edwards at Bearing Arms:

“The military version of the red flag law proposed by Democrats looks a lot like the civilian version found in more than a dozen states. Without being charged or even accused of a crime, a service member could have their right to possess a firearm taken away from them by a military court, and the subject of the red flag order wouldn’t even have a chance to provide any evidence on their behalf for up to 30 days after the court’s order was issued.”

Edwards added that the provision has major flaws:

All UNIPARTY members and 90% will get reected again. What is sad and funny at the same time is people still believe we have a 2 party system and think we can change things by voting. Voting caused this mess and NOT or Never be fixed as long as we have the Republican UNIPARTY. People still do not or want to see the real problem. 8888crybaby **nononono*

Congress Quietly Takes Aim at Second Amendment in Latest Military Funding Bill

This didn't receive any mainstream media attention, but a provision in the House-passed National Defense Authorization Act would allow military judges to confiscate firearms without a hearing.

The annual defense bill directs funding toward the military, but this year’s bill also contains gun regulation provisions. The 316-113 vote encompassed the majority of both Republicans and Democrats, and many Americans are wondering why politicians voted for the bill after claiming to be in support of minimal government intervention in the Second Amendment.

The anti-gun amendment in the bill would allow firearms owned by members of the armed forces to be confiscated without due process. Military courts would have the authority to prohibit gun possession by either giving the subject of the order an “opportunity to be heard on the order” or by issuing the order ex parte -- in other words, seize firearms now, ask questions later.

After receiving major blowback from supporters for his "YES" vote, North Carolina Representative Madison Cawthorn explained that the act prohibits the military from dishonorably discharging service members who refuse vaccination.

“The reason we had to vote for this is because so many of our active duty military who are refusing to take the vaccine are being dishonorably discharged, and that basically makes them a felon in our society,” Cawthorn said in an Instagram video.

Cawthorn claims that the gun confiscation laws will not go into effect. He said the bill had to pass its first round so that military personnel would not be punished with a dishonorable discharge for not complying with the vaccination requirement. ...

I get the gist of what you're saying. Voting in essence didn't cause this mess, but voting for RINO's or people just because they have an 'R' next to their name without researching their record is what got us here, that and not holding our politicians responsible.

You are correct, UNLESS we somehow manage to ensure voting/ballot integrity, nothing is going to change and yes, we have a uniparty.

I would like to think that the RNC/GOP are diligently working on election integrity, but 'they' are going to put in office whoever they want, compliments of Soros and company.

There is a slight chance that if the GOP voters and politicians were to all unify  that they just might have a chance in 2022; but I think it is highly unlikely.

A whole lot of change and a major shake up is needed and I just don't know how to accomplish that -- doubtful at the ballot box.

This is unconstitutional and needs to be challenged. It's doubtful it will make a difference with the corrupt SCOTUS.

There are 214 GOP Congressmen. That means only 79 stood up for the 2A.  That is very disturbing.
Let's hope it doesn't pass the Senate.

@mountaineer

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't the military ALWAYS had the right to do this? I personally know of a couple of cases where this happened back in the 60's.

When you join the military, the Bill of Rights no longer applies to you. You come under the Universal Code of Military Justice.
