What’s going on in Australia may be the most disturbing story of the year. A once, somewhat flourishing democracy has been reduced to a tyrannical medical state in which people are violently abused by government authorities for daring to walk outside. All in the name of fighting COVID-19, of course.

Unfortunately for those that live Down Under, there is no end in sight, and the scenes are only growing darker.

Ok,the author of this fantasy has his panties all in a wad over nothing. That is NOT automatic weapons firing you are hearing,it is sound effects from the loud speakers on the armored car.

Secondly,we have no freaking idea what is really going on,but I seriously doubt they are using armored cars and SWAT teams to drop people on the street and arrest them for not wearing masks.

Some of the biggest and most violent anti-mask and vax demonstrations have been in Austrailia.  Check those clips.  The police have not been what I would exactly call gentle.  Including point blank macing of protesters in the face.

They've been using rubber bullets but not with automatic weapons. And yes, they are violently taking down people who aren't complying with wearing a mask and/or being outside without permission.

I hate to say it, but when I first read the paragraph, the Bee didn't spring automatically to mind.

It's a pretty sad statement on the state of the world when the Bee has to struggle mightily to write something that is clearly satire.
