Body found where Gabby Petito search is underway in Wyoming, no confirmation of identity

Investigators on Saturday continued the national search for missing woman Gabby Petito a week after she was first reported missing. The search for her fiancé Brian Laundrie, who is a person of interest in the case, has ramped up since police officers went to his Florida home Friday expecting to speak to him and were told by his parents they hadn't heard from him since Tuesday.

Fox News Digital confirms Teton County Coroner Brent Blue has arrived in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. A body has been found in the same area officials have been searching for Gabby Petito.

Fox News Digital can also confirm that about 10 minutes after the coroner arrived on the scene, search dogs participating in the search left the search area.

A body has been recovered in the Wyoming forest where authorities have been searching for days for missing Long Island native Gabby Petito, according to a report Sunday.

Police have not confirmed if the body is that of the 22-year-old or if it is somehow tied to the case, but said authorities are working to confirm the identity, Fox News reported.

A coroner’s van has also reportedly arrived at the search command center at Grand Teton National Park, where Petito and her boyfriend, Brian Petito, were last known to be late last month.

Petito last spoke to her mom in Blue Point on Aug. 25, and was reported missing Sept. 11.

Laundrie, 23, who was on a cross-country trip with his beau, returned home in her van on Sept. 1, but without Petito.

He has now also gone missing and is the subject of a second search in the 25,000-acre Carlton Reserve in Sarasota County, Florida.

TikToker claims she picked up Brian Laundrie hitchhiking in Grand Teton

The hitchhiker allegedly told her he had been hiking for days along the Snake River, and said he had a fiancée who was working their social media pages back at their van, she claims in the video.

In what she called “key information” that she has allegedly shared with authorities, she said the hitchhiker she identified as Laundrie didn’t appear to have a full backpack, saying he had been sleeping on tarp.

“You think if you’re going camping for days on end you’d want food and a tent and he had none of that,” Baker said of the alleged encounter.

I've hiked in the Bridger Wilderness. Food, something to boil water in, a foam pad or hammock, and a sleeping bag are crucial. If he didn't have these, he wasn't there for a whole day.

BREAKING: FBI says remains were found today in Wyoming and they are consistent with the remains of
Gabby Peitio. The body was found where search was going on for Gaby. Her fiancé Brian Laundrie is a person of interest in the case and he hasn’t been seen in roughly a week.

I have been following this case as others here have too.

I turned on FOX and heard the press release; obviously an emotional time.

His parents didn't relay that her boyfriend was missing for days.

Lots of places to hide out in FL and survive. However, his picture has been splashed all over the news. Lots of reptiles he's going to have to contend with if he's hiding in a preserve. He could make his way to the Everglades or to the Keys -- but he's going to have a hard time staying hidden.
