Prince Andrew served with lawsuit alleging underage sex

Prince Andrew, Duke of York, has been served a lawsuit from an American woman alleging that he had sex with her when she was underage.
Virginia Roberts Giuffre first filed the lawsuit in a New York federal court in early August, in which she alleged that Prince Andrew abused her on multiple occasions while she was trafficked by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
According to a court document filed Friday, the Duke of York was served the lawsuit on Aug. 27 at his home, The Royal Lodge in Windsor.
The development comes days before an initial hearing on the matter is scheduled for Sept. 13.
The complaint was originally filed on Aug. 9, just before the deadline for alleged child sexual abuse victims to file civil claims that would have otherwise been barred by statutes of limitations.
Giuffre has alleged that she was directed to have sex with Prince Andrew by Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is now in prison, at multiple locations around the world between 2000 and 2002.
