Yes it is. But it is detached from Chromium and Google.
The creator left and started Vivaldi.

Or so I have been led to believe.

Thanks

Well, the skin is detached from google, but the underlying code base appears to be based on chromium.  The wikipedia page (take that for what it's worth) also states that Vivaldi appears to support many Chrome extensions, other than those relating to appearance.

Again, I apologize for being a bit of a pot-stirrer; it's in my nature, unfortunately.

I appreciate making distinctions.

I was under the impression they were distinct products more than differing skins.
The same guy/s wrote both codes.

Would you prefer/recommend more of a separation?

Would you suggest I switch browsers to my second choice, Brave, or something else?

Thanks Al

Vivaldi is a Chrome fork without much of the nastiness.

Brave is an alternative but I prefer Vivaldi.

then find a simple means to change the BrowserID to Chrome and see what happens...

I cant imagine that my words, logic, or humor got under their skin.

That seems overly conspiratorial. Functioning outside the norm necessarily pits you against the 'norm'... Kinda like me railing because 'they' won't provide me with electricity up in the holler.

Of course they don't.

In my Vivaldi settings/Privacy I reselected the singular item.

Crypto Token,
Disabling this option might break google services.

After I purged all my add ons, I had disabled the above.

Yes, it disables log on.

I'll think about whether this is a significant issue.
I will discuss it with my younger brother. He is a software guy for a living.

Probably a way to track my wanderings.

Thanks all
