This is genius, In France many restaurants, bars, change their status to PRIVATE CLUB. They then don’t have to ask customer for a Covid slave passport. New customers become “members” in less <1minute and for free. Thus, the restaurant is no longer “public”, but private. Welcome

Day 6 of Covid. Now my wife and kids have it too. All of us vaxxed; wife and I both boosted not long ago. Everybody we know who has omicron was vaxxed; most also boosted. So I gotta ask: what's the point of vaccine passports now? Security theater? Prepping social credit system?

After two years of suffering through repeated lockdowns and COVID scares, most of us are getting back to work (the occasional outbreak notwithstanding). By this stage, us office stiffs have got used to socially distancing and wearing masks in the workplace… But for some businesses, that’s not enough.

Enter Nike. The sportswear giant, which employees over 73,000 people globally – of which around 8,000 work in and around their world headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon – has made the bold decision to start firing unvaccinated employees in a move that’s likely to open a huge legal can of worms, and has already sparked controversy.⁠

Nike has had a vaccine mandate for corporate employees in place since October, but as of this Saturday, has started giving any employee who hasn’t received a medical or religious exemption the flick. An example of the dismissal notice having already been leaked online.

“You failed to complete the verification process and our records show that you do not have an approved (exemption),” reads an email Nike sent to one employee last week, The Oregonian reports. “As a result, you are not in compliance with the Policy and your employment is scheduled to be terminated on Saturday, January 15, 2022.” ...

I'm applying for some internal positions with my company, but this disclaimer is on pretty much every job listing I see:

"The health of our associates and communities is a top priority for *********. We require all new candidates to become vaccinated against COVID-19. If you are not vaccinated, your offer will be rescinded unless you provide -- and ******** approves -- a valid religious or medical explanation as to why you are not able to get vaccinated that ********* is reasonably able to accommodate.  ******** will also follow all relevant federal, state and local laws."


Furthermore, when I actually complete an internal application, there is a Yes/No checkbox to say whether I am 'fully vaccinated'. 

Side note - all of these positions are remote / work-from-home.

The onus is on consumers to punish companies that impose vax mandates. The employees can't always quit on the spot. If you have kids to feed, it's not that simple. But consumers risk nothing and sacrifice nothing by boycotting. We have the power, and it costs us literally nothing.
