Factions within the Biden administration are embroiled in a blame game over why the US government didn’t act sooner to withdraw American citizens and Afghans who helped the US over two decades of war, leading to a rushed and dangerous evacuation.
In an exclusive television interview with Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin, General Mark Milley said that one of the “lessons learned” from the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan was the pitfalls realized in the Afghan security forces.
“The Army itself – the army and the police forces were a mirror image in many ways – and we created and developed forces that looked like Western forces,” Milley explained. “I think one of the big lessons learned here is maybe those forces were not designed appropriately for the type of mission.”
The truth is Milley lied and all his statements were not true. Griffin failed to add that there are transcripts of calls between Milley and Afghan President Ghani that tell a different story. And according to the flow of the call, Milley asking Ghani to hide the fact that things were collapsing in Afghanistan. Milley knew it. This was no surprise!
Though there was chaos the first day of the withdrawal, Milley explains that everything settled down the next day.
