California Legislature Passes Bill to Mandate Gender Neutral Toy Aisles

(Associated Press) California could soon force large department stores to display some child products in gender neutral ways after the state Legislature passed a bill on Wednesday aimed at getting rid of traditional pink and blue marketing schemes for items like toys and toothbrushes.

The bill would not outlaw traditional boys and girls sections in department stores, but it would require retailers to have a gender neutral section to display “a reasonable selection” of items “regardless of whether they have been traditionally marketed for either girls or for boys.”

The bill would only apply to department stores with 500 or more employees, so most small businesses would be exempt. It also wouldn’t apply to clothes, just toys and “childcare items,” which include hygiene and teething products.

The state Senate passed the bill on Wednesday, sending it back to the Assembly for a procedural vote before it heads to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s desk.

Why do the Democrat socialists feel they have the right to tell a retailer how to organize their shelves, and exactly what are they accomplishing? If a boy wants a 'girl' toy or a girl a 'boy' toy does having all the toys mixed on the aisles vs. stocked on separate aisles really make a damn bit of difference? Because children don't care only 'special' parents and adults care.

That is the insanity of this way of thinking. ALL toys are inherently 'gender neutral'. If a girl wants a squirt gun, then buy it. Who cares?
If a boy wants a doll, then buy it. Who cares? Mixing all the toys up in some Liberal intersectional aisle is meaningless and changes nothing.

Moving a toy from this aisle to that aisle makes no difference, especially to kids. They already know where what they want is.
All the toys are available to anybody already. There is no Taliban monitor telling kids what they can and cannot buy.
