I'm placing blame squarely where it belongs... on the 'trapped' Americans.

The "exit strategy" was sh*t.  Once they knew they weren't going to be able to get them all, they sandbagged the Taliban Leadership and announced to the world who, where and in what condition they were in.

At this point they're making lemonade from lemons.   And it tastes like crap.
