NEW: US official confirms 2 suicide bombers were in explosive laden vehicle targeted by US drone strike today. The vehicle targeted by the US drone was parked when the drone struck. Airstrike occurred about 3 km from the Kabul Airport. The drone flew out of UAE.

The one and only reason I can imagine that we are turning away people is that the evac will not accomodate the number of people trying to get out with space needed to get the military out. I expect this to happen before Tuesday. We are not in charge.

I assume there were so many military planes flying...there was no viable method for private planes to land.

Of course, I'm trying to be logical in this total nightmare.

As odd as this sounds, I'm praying for Allah to change the hearts of the Talis so maybe the remaining people will escape. (and before I'm attacked...I have been praying to God since this nightmare started and continue to do so).

The only thing we can do is hope and pray.

You got that right.   A Predator drone doesn't carry enough fuel to make that distance with zero ordinance, much less make the return flight.  Besides, the UAE would never allow us to base from there since Biden screwed them over on their F-35 purchase.
