There is so much that is infuriating about President Joe Biden’s handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

However, none perhaps is more galling than his unwillingness to allow U.S. forces to rescue American citizens and our Afghan allies and get them to the Kabul airport.

Our French and British allies reportedly have been sending their military and other security personnel into the city to do just that.

David Martinon, French ambassador to Afghanistan, posted a video on Wednesday showing a caravan of vehicles traveling through Kabul.

82nd Airborne commander tells Brits to stop rescuing stranded nationals because they're making the U.S. look bad?

So much for the U.S.-U.K. alliance.

The commander of the 82nd Airborne, in a story I hope is wrong, has reportedly told this to the Brits, according to the Washington Examiner's Tom Rogan:

    I understand that the commanding general of the 82nd Airborne Division has told the commander of the British special forces at the Kabul airport to cease operations beyond the airport perimeter.

    Maj. Gen. Christopher Donahue has told his British Army counterpart, a high-ranking field-grade officer of the British army's 22nd Special Air Service Regiment, that British operations were embarrassing the United States military in the absence of similar U.S. military operations. I understand that the British officer firmly rejected the request.

Biden Helped Evacuate The French Embassy While Leaving American Citizens To The Mercy Of The Taliban

    President Joe Biden said Friday his administration provided support for the evacuation of the French embassy to the Kabul airport in Afghanistan.
    American citizens were informed Thursday by the U.S. Embassy in Kabul that the Biden Administration cannot ensure their safe passage to the Kabul airport.
    Biden suggested Friday it wasn’t necessary to send U.S. troops out to help escort American citizens stuck in the city to the airport because he “made an agreement with the Taliban.”

President Joe Biden boasted during a press conference Friday that his administration supported the evacuation of the French embassy in Kabul while at the same time American citizens are being told the U.S. government cannot escort them to the airport.

The U.S. Embassy in Kabul informed American citizens on Thursday that the Biden administration “cannot ensure safe passage to the airport.” The message came one day after Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the U.S. military lacks the capability to escort Americans trapped behind enemy lines to the airport.

However, the Biden administration did have the capability to provide support to a convoy of hundreds of French people from their embassy to the airport, the president said Friday.

47 non-U.S. military aircraft were able to fly out yesterday, official adds.

1,600 total evacuated, about 170 were American Citizens, which means ~90% of the evacuees are not Americans.  Blinken promised Americans would not be high priority, and he's delivering on that promise.
