Gen Milley says that intel assessments showed the rapid collapse of the Afghan government and security forces was a possibility, but they ranged from weeks to months to even years following US departure. Nothing he or others saw indicated a collapse could happen in just 11 days.

Gen. Milley says currently the security situation at the airport is stable. but notes there are threats they are closely monitoring
