Biden’s best argument was the case he made just now against the “stalemate” saying that if he had broken the Trump deal about departure the tenuous situation would’ve collapsed.

It’s academic & doesn’t address the particulars of exit chaos but it’s important to broader context.

We’d better hope to God that as with Dunkirk, individual Americans with skills and resources do the necessary to evacuate everyone. The US govt is looking not terribly more effective than the British Navy at the point that it was sending in big ships to load up, get sunk by Nazis
