Larosa Maria Walker-Asekere and Dwight Broom Palmer have been charged with second degree murder and second degree cruelty to children in the death of Imani Bell.
Bell collapsed while doing drills in 2019.
Bell’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the school district and coaching staff in February.

Two Georgia high school basketball coaches are facing murder and child cruelty charges following the 2019 death of a 16-year-old player who suffered a heat stroke while practicing outside.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Larosa Maria Walker-Asekere and Dwight Broom Palmer have been charged with second degree murder and second degree cruelty to children in the death of Imani Bell.

The two were handed a grand jury indictment in early July. They are also charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct.
