I hope you people truly appreciate how uncomfortable *I* am to be put in a position of being "the voice of reason",but let's not forget that not all Jews are lefties. Get out of places like NYC,and politically,they aren't very different than the rest of us,and I knew a few in the army that were more conservative than I am.

Regardless of if it is a civilian or a military ship,large vessels get blown around by big winds,and while tied to a dock they can't put their bows into the wind to avoid it. It is much more dangerous for a big ship to be tied up in port during a big wind than it is for them to be out in deep water.

For an Admiral to ignore this threat borders on being a criminal act,or the act of someone insane.

Waves start to 'sound' when the water depth is half the distance from crest to crest (wavelength). What is a ripple in the open ocean is a tsunami on the beach. If you have the vessel for it, deep water is the better option.
