‘He’s A Stupid Person’: Trump Rips McConnell For Not Getting Rid Of The Filibuster

Former President Donald Trump slammed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for not putting an end to the Senate filibuster during his presidency in an interview published Monday.

“He’s a stupid person,” Trump said about McConnell to Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker in the Vanity Fair interview. “I don’t think he’s smart enough … I tried to convince Mitch McConnell to get rid of the filibuster, to terminate it, so that we would get everything, and he was a knucklehead and he didn’t do it.”

In March, Trump said that ending the filibuster in the Senate would be catastrophic for Republicans.

During an interview on the podcast “The Truth with Lisa Boothe,” Trump mentioned McConnell’s efforts to stop Democrats from eliminating the filibuster, saying McConnell is “hanging by a thread right now with respect to the filibuster.”

“And if they get the filler, he’s hanging on Joe Manchin, who always goes with the Democrats. Joe talks, but he ends up going with the Democrats. Now there’s another great senator from the state of Arizona. He’s hanging by a thread and if they get rid of the filibuster, if they knock it out, it will be catastrophic for the Republican Party,” Trump said in the interview.

Big mistake on Trump's part.

McConnell is many things,including a traitor to China,but the one thing he isn't is stupid.

He's  merely evil,like all other traitors.

I support getting rid of the filibuster on two conditions:

  • The VP does not get a vote on cloture
  • The 17th Amendment is repealed.

Just my opinion, but Trump continuing to preach to the choir about the RINO's is futile.  As I have said before, he needs to use  his army of 75,000,000 and prompt them to get involved, build from the ground up and rebuild the integrity of our elections.  Doing nothing but ranting and raving will accomplish nothing. 

I believe the fix is already in; Ronna is head of the RNC and we will definitely see  Mittens running again as well as Pence and other RINO's.  A true conservative as things stand now, doesn't stand a chance in Hades.
