This turned out to be one of the quicker cases of a governmental about-face in recent memory. Despite the CDC’s recent guidance saying that it was safe to go back to in-person learning at schools and universities without the need for masks, the state of California decided to make up its own rules yesterday. State health officials not only ignored the CDC guidance but went several steps further. The new instructions would have forced schools to bar students from campus if they refused to wear a mask. That lasted for approximately four hours. Then Gavin Newsom and state public health Director Mark Ghaly apparently thought better of it. They won’t be issuing orders for colleges and universities, and the “mandate” for public K-12 schools will leave the decision up to the schools. So in reality, there is no mandate at all.

Looking at https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/california/ , CA may be experiencing a very small bump in new cases, but no increase in daily deaths.

Look for new improved 'more Hitleresque' Noisome if the democrats can pull off another cheat like they did with Captain Dementia and Queen Hoover.

Almost everyone in Los Angeles County will have to once again wear masks inside — even those who are fully vaccinated — beginning 11:59 p.m. Saturday, July 17, as health officials try to manage significant growth in coronavirus transmission in recent weeks.

County public health officials announced the return of the indoor face-covering mandate during a Thursday, July 15, briefing.

Los Angeles County’s current case rate puts the area in the “substantial transmission” category, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That’s the second highest of four categories.

The order will have some exceptions, LA County Health Officer Muntu Davis said during a Thursday afternoon, June 15, briefing, but will look largely like the masking order that was in place countywide before June 15.

I'd threaten to boycott LA County, but my bout with Covid in January and a recent family trip has my accrued vaycay hours pretty low. Besides, our family interests are in the two coastal counties south of the Land of LA.
