On this day in History   July 11  1960

“To Kill a Mockingbird”  was published
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I used to think it was a good book.
Not so much any more. I view it now as something of a leftist tome.

I also suspected that Harper Lee either didn't write it, or had some serious help (perhaps from Truman Capote).

The primary reason is that if it was "that good", it almost certainly represents the product of a talent that should have produced "more" in the author's lifetime.

And after that, she wrote... practically nothing.

The movie was OK, however.
