Rep. Bennie Thompson, Chair of Jan. 6 Committee, May Call Trump to Testify: 'Wherever the Facts Lead Us'

Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), the newly appointed chairman of the House Select Committee on the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, says he's no "shrinking violet," and he will call former President Donald Trump to testify, "if the facts lead us there."

CNN's Chris Cuomo asked Thompson on Thursday night, "Will you call Trump?"

"Well, let me say this," Thompson said.

"We have a good committee. We will have professional investigators. We will have the best that we have, to offer to help us conduct this investigation and wherever the facts lead us, Chris, we will follow."

"The facts will lead you to Trump," Cuomo said. "Will you call Trump?"

"If the facts lead us there, and our investigators say that it's (in) our best interest, we'll look at it," Thompson responded.....

Why would Trump want to remain silent?  The truth is the truth.  I'm convinced that both Pence and Pelosi knew days ahead of time about the insurrection.

Trump has also been quoted as telling his supporters to peacefully protest.  Last time I checked there was a huge difference between the BLM/Antifa mob that staged the whole thing and Trump supporters who peacefully protested.
