This is just plain wrong!!!!

Make-A-Wish refuses to grant wishes to unvaccinated children

The Make-A-Wish Foundation, the famous organization that creates "life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses," has announced that the nonprofit will only grant wishes to terminally ill children and their participating family members if they're all fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The announcement was made by Make-A-Wish president and CEO Richard Davis in a viral video explaining the charitable foundation's new policy:

"Over the past year, we spent each day at Make-A-Wish preparing for the moment when every possible wish could possibly move forward," Davis states in the video clip. "We've approached this responsibility with a focus and diligence for your family's health and safety."

"Now we've consulted with doctors and medical professionals throughout the National Medical Advisory Council. We've been monitoring public health organizations like the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics," he says.

Davis then states that the foundation will "resume granting air-travel wishes within the United States and its territories, as well as granting wishes involving large gatherings for vaccinated wish families, as soon as Sept. 15, 2021. All wish participants, including your wish kid and any siblings, will need to be two weeks past completion of either a one-dose or a two-dose vaccine."

Make-A-Wish stopped granting wishes involving air travel at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in early 2020. The CDC recommends COVID-19 vaccination for anyone 12 years of age and older. On May 10, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expanded the emergency use authorization for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to include adolescents as young as 12 years old.

While the foundation will not require proof of vaccination, it will need all adults to sign a "letter of understanding that certifies that they and any minors participating in the wish are vaccinated and fully understand the risks of traveling at this time."..............

I don't even know how to respond.  This is wrong on so many levels.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

There are plenty of other worthwhile charities to donate to that don't treat children like political pawns

I always thought that the Make A Wish was for children that had little or no chance of surviving so just WTF is the actual reason to discriminate against the children of parents that decline to give a vaccine that is of little or no benefit to even healthy children. Also I have seen the American Academy of Pediatricians used as an authority for other asinine decisions, but their membership is really a minority of pediatricians in America.

The AAP has approximately 67,000 members in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and many other countries. Members include pediatricians, pediatric medical subspecialists and pediatric surgical specialists.

How many pediatricians are in the US in 2020?
This includes 58,726 general pediatricians and 4,703 physicians who were trained jointly in internal medicine-pediatrics.

So we see that the AAP is probably a small radical group with an agenda, much like the AMA which has had a declining membership for years.

The leadership of the Make A Wish foundation should just be forthright and admit they are causing additional grief to dying children and their families simply to push their socialist agenda.

Sounds like a great vote-with-your-feet opportunity.

That was my understanding as well; the Foundation gives dying children a chance to live their last dream; now that is being taken from them.  Why oh why would you give a dying child a vaccine as their health is compromised anyways? Bet you odds that this is the brainstorm of a bunch of liberal idiots within the organization.

For a moment, I thought this was the Bee. Sadly, it's not. The worst part is, there is not a single vaccine for this available for anyone under the age of 12... and the poor health of most recipients would make them poor candidates for a vaccine anyway.

This policy runs entirely counter to their organization's mission.

There's a reason Paul McHugh split off and formed the American College of Pediatrics.

Amen!  How very very sad. Nothing is the same anymore.  I truly fear for my kids and grandkids!

Make a Wish is wishing to drop their tax free status.

Sounds good.

Kinda gives you brain freeze, doesn't it?

Not to mention the urge to beat the snot out of whoever came up with this brain

If any of you DO decide to do the above, ask for a jury trial. There HAS to be someone sane enough on a 12 person  jury to stand up and applaud your actions in the jury room, and cause a hung jury.
Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!
