Florida Rep. Val Demings officially enters Senate race against Rubio
By Max Greenwood - 06/09/21 07:31 AM EDT

Rep. Val Demings (D-Fla.) officially launched her Senate campaign in Florida on Wednesday, becoming the highest-profile Democrat yet to announce a challenge to Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).

“Unlike some in Washington, I never tired of standing up for what I believe is right, because no one is above the law,” Demings said in a video announcing her candidacy. “But it turns out, there are some in Washington who prefer the same old tired ways of doing business.”

She added: “I’m running for the United States Senate because of two simple words: Never tired.”

She will have the support of every South FL Liberal rag in the state lead by the Miami Horrid.
The fawning and adulation will be glorious.

The BLM crowd isn't going to support a police chief.  With the money pouring in for the governor, Marco could have an easy race on his hands, if he avoids controversy.

Avoiding controversy?  Good luck with that one.   He has too much already going against him; Marco lost his own state in the general election to Trump.  He is a member of the Gang of 8 which will always haunt him.  He has never stood his ground on any issue of significance.  After he lost his bid for FL during the general election, he dropped out of politics vowing that he would never run again, only to jump back into the Senate race a few weeks later, so he lacks credibility.

Added to that, the DEMS are pros at stealing elections.  I predict Marco is going to lose his seat.  It doesn't matter how much money is thrown at the situation.

Personally, as much as I don't like Demmings, I will NOT vote for Marco.

Dems had their chance to get rid of him, and lost by nearly 8 points in a presidential year.  He sates the neocons,  moderate women, and a fair number of hispanics.  I also think Biden will to lose popularity between now and then, and DeSantis will not let the dems pull any shenanigans.

Biden's popularity doesn't make a darn bit of difference. The DEMS will vote for Demmings; especially a black female.  Rubio is damaged goods.

Out of curiosity, how do you propose that DeSantis is going to ensure a fair election?

The latest election integrity bill gives him the tools he needs.  At this point, the danger lies in the federal judiciary, and whatever Merrick Garland pulls at the last minute.
