A man landed behind bars for attempting to smuggle more than 15,000 rounds of ammo into Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, according to an arrest affidavit.
Carlos Francisco Rodriguez was arrested and charged with export and attempt to export ammunition.
The incident unfolded at about 7:45 p.m. May 27, when U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers conducting outbound operations at the Juarez-Lincoln International Bridge inspected a Mercedes sport utility vehicle with Texas plates.
