House Dems Plot Own Investigation Of Capitol Riot After Senate Votes Down January 6 Commission

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and a number of House Democrats are plotting to put together a “select committee” in order to investigate the January 6th riots at the United States Capitol following a vote in the Senate that tanked Democrat hopes for a “January 6th Commission,” according to CNN.

On Saturday, Democrats failed to marshal enough votes to overcome a filibuster, losing in an effort to create a “9/11-style commission” to investigate the origins of and security failures during the January 6th incident. Republicans voted against the commission, largely because of concerns that the Democrat-drafted bill would create a partisan committee rather than ensure a neutral investigation.

Several competing bills, drafted by “moderates” and Republicans and designed to create a bipartisan commission to investigate the rally and subsequent attack on the Capitol, also failed. Nine Republicans and two Democrats did not vote.

On Sunday, CNN noted that Pelosi and other House Democrats, who backed the probe, are now considering a new plan: forming a “select commission” in the House to investigate the riots, without a bipartisan consensus.

Seems this would better suit the rats’ purposes. If they included Republicans someone might want to include Capitol bldg surveillance footage, take actual testimony from protestors or demand Pelosi reveal her conversations with DC mayor or the Capitol Hill police chief leading up to Jan 6th.

So the House Rodents want to run their own Star Chamber.

That's no surprise.

They'll subpeona the President, of course.

The President should refuse to honor the subpeona unless the FULL interview is on live TV and he's allowed his own staff to record the event, as well.

And then he should ignore the questions asked and attack the Rodents asking the questions.   Trump is a showman, he knows how to play this game.  It would be the most watched Congressional Star Chamber event in history.

It would be a campaign event for the GOP.

What is funny, is this woman lying her ignorant azz off!  POTUS TRUMP is doing this for his political career? HE IS/WAS ALREADY POTUS..can't go any higher.  lol  POTUS TRUMP took NO PAY FOR 4 years.  He gave it charity or back to VA, some military program
to help Veterans. HE IS ALREADY AT THE TOP.  He and all TRUMPS..did volunteer work!  They lost some of their own wealth, helping America. People like her, and lying COOPER...I just want to slap.  Slap some sense into them?

Pelosi floats Democrat-led investigation of Jan. 6 as commission alternative

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Tuesday outlined multiple possibilities for a House Democratic-led investigation of the Jan. 6 insurrection after Senate Republicans blocked legislation to create a bipartisan commission.

Pelosi laid out four potential alternatives during a House Democratic Caucus call following Friday's vote in the Senate that failed to overcome a GOP filibuster against legislation that would have established a commission modeled after the one that probed the 9/11 terror attacks.

According to a source on the caucus call, the four alternatives laid out by Pelosi include allowing the Senate to vote again on the House-passed bill to create an independent commission, creating a House select committee, allowing multiple committees to continue their ongoing investigations or empowering one House committee, such as Homeland Security, to take the lead on investigating Jan. 6.

Pelosi ruled out the idea of a presidential commission that had been floated by some Democrats because it likely wouldn't have subpoena authority or funding without a statutory change.

No final decisions have been made, and Pelosi said discussions will continue so that Democrats can establish consensus on the next steps.
